Wire EDM Operator Job Description
Overview
Die-Mension Corporation is seeking an experienced Wire EDM Set Up / Operator to set up Mitsubishi machines for a variety of jobs. The ideal candidate will have experience in machine setups, Tool & Die blueprint reading, and quality inspection. We are willing to train an experienced Tool & Die maker &/or an experienced CNC Set Up / Operator
Responsibilities
- Select, align, and secure fixtures, wire, and workpieces on machines as necessary to machine parts as needed.
- Loads and edits CNC programs as needed
- Utilizes knowledge of linear axes and using G and M codes
- Programming, operating and maintaining Wire EDM utilizing knowledge of working properties and processes for a variety of materials
- Verifies conformance of finished workpieces to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment, as necessary.
- Documents actions by updating control charts, travelers, and ERP labor reporting
- Clean the work tank, table, and wire path pulleys daily
- Analyze and interpret Op sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specifications
- Follows all Die-Mension Corp. policies and procedures, including proper PPE
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Wire EDM experience 1 year preferred
- Tool and Die Blueprint reading experience preferred
- Understanding the different wire types, sizes, and operating parameters for the best machine optimization
- Solid grasp of high school level mathematics necessary
- Experience with Mitsubishi controls preferred
- Experience with BOBCAD, AutoCAD and SolidWorks software – Minimum 1 year preferred
- Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

Physical Demand Levels
- Lift, push, and/or pull up to thirty-five pounds regularly

- Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, lifting, and grasping
- Frequently use gross and fine motor skills to manage various parts, tools, and tooling
